An in-depth tour of the historic scenery of the Distillery and its past, while using space age technology. Spend a few minutes learning various techniques for riding a Segway. Did you know the Distillery District was once home to the largest distillery in the British Empire? Imagine yourself immersed where Toronto's tallest building once stood, where the infamous Al Capone was spotted, and where many Hollywood films were shot. You'll learn about the exciting history behind the Distillery District as well as its significance to Toronto's past and present.

Summary:

MINIMUM 72 HOURS MINIMUM ADVANCE BOOKING REQUIRED. Tour does not include hotel pick-up. Rates are in US Dollars and include all taxes. Riders must be 12 years old or be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Riders must be able to stand unassisted throughout tour. All riders must weigh at least 100 pounds and be at least 3 feet tall. Maximum weight limit per rider is 280 pounds. Reserve online, or call us toll-free at 888-811-9247.

There is a $5.95 USD processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges, unless otherwise specified.

Cancellation Policy:

There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

Places of interest in the Distillery District:

Stonehouse Distillery, Malt House (built in 1860), now called the Maltings, Rackhouse D, Molasses Storage building, Boiler House, Stables, Cannery, Paint Shop, Various tankhouses (originally seven of which only three survive today), Denaturing Room, Rack Houses M, G, and J, Pump House, Case Goods Warehouse, Cooperage, Pure Spirits Building (built in 1870), Grist Mill/Windmill (built in 1832)

Before the tour, you must complete a short training session to learn how to use and safely operate the Segway HT.

Do I have to wear a helmet?
It is our policy to require riders to wear a helmet. One will be provided to you free of charge.

Is there a minimum age for the tour?
Riders must be 12 years old and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

How far will the Segway HT travel?
The Segway HT can travel up to 24 miles on a single charge depending on riding conditions.

How fast can the Segway HT travel?
Every Segway HT has three different keys that riders may choose from depending on riding environment and level of experience. The Beginner Key (maximum speed of 6 mph and slowest turning rate), allows riders to gain confidence using the machine. The Sidewalk Key (maximum speed of 8 mph and a medium turning rate), allows riders to adapt well in pedestrian environments. The Open Environment Key (maximum speed of 12.5 mph and the most responsive turning rate), allows riders to comfortably cover open spaces. Riders are responsible for riding their Segway HT at appropriate speeds.

How safe is the Segway HT?
The utmost care and research has gone into ensuring that the Segway HT is safe. The Segway HT's balancing technology is truly revolutionary and provides an exceptional riding experience. The Segway HT has redundant systems and sophisticated alerts built into its design, and many thousands of hours of use have demonstrated that the Segway HT is safe when used appropriately. It is important that Segway HT riders understand their responsibility to ride safely. Proper skill level and understanding of the Segway HT prevents injuries caused by loss of control or misuse.

Who can ride the Segway HT?
The Segway HT is designed to be operated by a wide range of people after receiving orientation. No special skills are required. The rider must be able to do the following: Step on and off the Segway HT without assistance, which requires physical abilities similar to climbing and descending stairs without assistance or use of a handrail.

Rider must weigh between 100 and 280 pounds
Rider must be able to operate the steering control with his or her left hand

Segway recommends that riders be 12 years or older. It is important to note that the Segway HT has not been designed, tested, or approved as a medical device.
