Thousand Island Tours from New York

This outstanding 5-day, 4-night tour from New York City features four very popular sightseeing locations in the eastern US and Canada.

You'll see the spectacular Niagara Falls from both the American and Canadian sides of the border. You'll also visit the beautiful Canadian city of Toronto. En route from New York to Niagara Falls, you'll visit Watkins Glen. On your return from Canada to the US, you'll either see Welland Canal and Niagara-on-the-Lake (in April) or the 1000 Islands region (May through October).

There's more! We also include a shopping stop at a big brand name outlet mall on our return trip to New York City, plus a sightseeing day in Washington, DC! Leave the driving to us and see all these fantastic locations in five days. These rates are for double adult occupancy. Each order must include 2 adults.

Proof of Citizenship: All passengers are required to have proper identification when entering or leaving the United States. On tours traveling to Canada clients have the responsibility to make sure in advance that visa requirements are met.

SINGLE OCCUPANCY: One adult only in one room (or one adult with a child under the age of 2).

DOUBLE OCCUPANCY: Two adults in one room, or one adult and one child over 2 years of age. Children under the age of 2 are free staying in the same room; maximum of 4 total persons in the room.

TRIPLE OCCUPANCY: Three adults in one room, or two adults and one child over 2 years of age, or one adult and two children over 2 years of age. One child under the age of 2 may stay in the same room for free; maximum of 4 total persons in the room.

QUAD OCCUPANCY: Four adults in one room, or three adults and one child over 2 years of age, or two adults and two children over 2 years of age, or one adult and 3 children over 2 years of age.

Day 1: Sunday

NEW YORK TO FINGER LAKES TO NIAGARA FALLS

Depart from the Big Apple in the morning, heading north past the scenic Delaware Gap to Watkins Glen State Park in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of New York state. We'll walk through Watkins Glen Canyon to visit the beautiful waterfalls and then continue to Niagara Falls, passing Seneca Lake and arriving in the late afternoon. Time to tour the American side of the Falls, including the American Falls, Goat Island, and Sister Island. At night, our tour of Niagara Falls continues, allowing us to appreciate the colorful lighting of the waters.

Day 2: Monday

NIAGARA FALLS TO TORONTO TO 1000 ISLANDS (May to October)
NIAGARA FALLS TO TORONTO TO NIAGARA FALLS (April)

Leaving the hotel, hear the thundering water of Niagara Falls. See the Falls up close from the Horseshoe Falls and experience the power of the falls aboard the Maid of the Mist (May to October) or on a tour of the Scenic Tunnels (November to April). Around noon, we depart for the picturesque village of Niagara-on-the-Lake (May to October only) before heading on to Toronto, the largest city in the biggest country in the world! See City Hall, Parliament, and Eaton Center. As evening arrives, (from May to October) we depart Toronto east along the world famous Lake Ontario for an evening arrival in the 1000 Islands area. Or, (in April) we return to Niagara Falls for our overnight.

Day 3: Tuesday

1000 ISLANDS TO NEW JERSEY (May to October)
NIAGARA FALLS TO WELLAND CANAL TO NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE TO NEW JERSEY (April)

(May to October) We start the day with a cruise through the amazing 1000 Islands along the St. Laurence River, seeing the houses of the rich and famous built atop private islands. (May to October) After the cruise, we head south for our return to New York state.
(April) We spend the morning visiting the Welland Canal Locks see how this amazing testament to man's ingenuity can move huge ships up and down the Niagara escarpment. There's a stop for lunch in Niagara-on-the-Lake, a unique lakeside village.
(April to October) On the way to New Jersey, we'll take time for a shopping excursion at one of the large outlet malls along the way, where you can find your own bargains at brand name stores. Arrive in the evening in New Jersey.

Day 4: Wednesday

NEW JERSEY TO WASHINGTON DC

We continue our travels south, passing through the states of New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland before arriving directly on Capitol Hill. See the Capitol - home of Congress, government buildings, and White House to understand the core of the US government. Continue to the Air and Space Museum before visiting the Lincoln, Washington, Korea and Vietnam Memorials.

Day 5: Thursday

WASHINGTON DC TO NEW YORK

Start the day with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery the changing of the guard and the Kennedy family gravesite. Next, visit the US Mint and learn how they try to keep the US Dollar safe from counterfeiters. We end our tour with a visit to one of the museums along the mall and then depart north to New York for an early evening arrival.

~U.S. and Canadian citizens ages 19 and older must present a passport for travel across the US-Canada border. Children ages 18 and under are required to present proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate - passports, of course, are also acceptable.
~If one parent is traveling with a minor child without the other parent, they must also have a notarized letter from the absent parent stating approval for the one parent to travel across the US-Canada border with the child.
~Passports and I-94 cards (multiple entrance Visas) are required for all other International travelers.
